Twila Campbell Memorial P.E.O. Scholarship
Deadline: April 17, 2015
This scholarship is offered to a Merrick County area senior girl through the P.E.O. Chapter AB.

Northwest High School Music Boosters Scholarship (Turn into the counseling office)
Deadline: April 21, 2015
The Music Boosters offer 2 different scholarships to Northwest students. To be eligible for these scholarships the student's parent(s) must be members of Music Boosters. Students may apply for one or both of these.
The High School Music Participant scholarship is offered to reward participation and achievement in the music programs at Northwest. Recipients must have been involved in Northwest music programs for four years. Students do not need to participate or major in college music for this scholarship.
The Music Major/Collegiate Music Participant scholarship is awarded to a student who plans to major in music or participate in a collegiate music program. (First consideration will be given to those who plan to major in music).

Nebraska Coaches Association Scholarship
Deadline: April 27, 2015
This scholarship is offered to student athletes who are in the upper 25% of the class and have a GPA of 3.75 or above. They also must have an ACT minimum score of 24. Must be at least a 2-year participant in 2 sports and earned a varsity letter in 2 sports. NEEDS TRANSCRIPT!

Pink Bandana Scholarship
Deadline: April 30, 2015
This scholarship is offered to students who have had breast cancer, or have a sibling or parent who has had breast cancer within the last 10 years. This is a 4-year renewable scholarship.

Jim Hanna Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: April 30, 2015
This scholarship is offered to a student who has a parent that is a member of the Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska (ICON). Student may choose any school with any major. Student must have a 2.5 GPA and be involved in extracurricular activities.

Delta Tau Delta Fraternity
Deadline: April 30, 2015
This is for male students who are interested in joining the Greek System at UNL but you do not have to pledge to Delta Tau Delta in order to be eligible.
Scholarship based on leadership, academic success, athletics, philanthropy, involvement, social interactions, financial endeavors, as well as personal growth.

Collegebound NE Program
If you qualify for this programs, the state of NE will pay your tuition costs. Students on the Free and Reduced Lunch plan will qualify for these programs. Families of four with an income of less than $53,000 may also receive the scholarship money. You will NOT need to apply for the program; it is automatic as long as you meet the guidelines. You must attend UNK, UNL, or UNO, complete the FAFSA by April 1, be Pell Grant eligible and be a NE resident.

NSCS Advantage Program

CCC Davis/Chambers Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is offered to students planning to attend CCC. Students should come from diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds who often find that the financial requirements of college are a major obstacle.

The Grand Island Board of Realtors Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is offered to a senior who is in the upper half of their class and possesses attributes evidencing potential in their selected vocation. Two letters of recommendation and a transcript are required along with a personal narrative per instructions on application.

Grand Island Lions Club Scholarship (Turn into the counseling office)
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is offered to a senior who has a 2.0 GPA or above and has financial need. Student must plan to attend college in Nebraska. Priority consideration will be given to students with visual disabilities, but this is not a requirement to apply. Must have attended Northwest High School for a minimum of 2 years. Submit a personal resume and be sure to include and write about any visual handicap you may have.

NE School Counselor Association Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This is offered to all seniors. Read all directions carefully. Students must write an essay that describes how your school counselor or their program has assisted you to plan, decide, resolve or grow in an area of your life. Topics may come from any related K-12 experience and are not limited to only the college or career planning process. Essay should be typed and double-spaced and limited to 500 words. DO NOT put your name, your counselor's name or the name of your school on the essay. Failure to follow these guidelines or provide additional documents not requested will disqualify your application.

AK-SAR-BEN Community College Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This is offered to students planning to attend a community college in Nebraska or Western Iowa. Student must be dedicated to building leadership potential, achieving academic success and demonstrating financial need. Student must write a 500 word or less essay that includes involvement in activities and organizations, leadership positions held, special awards or recognitions received, need for financial aid to attend college and why education is important to you. Two letters of reference and a transcript are required.

Northwest Student Council Scholarship (Turn into the counseling office)
Deadline: April 2, 2015
These scholarships will be offered to Northwest students who are in the top 25% of the class. Two letter of recommendation (one teacher and one other adult) and a transcript are required.
The common application will also be required for this scholarship.
Red Cross "Young Minds Change Lives" Scholarship ( Turn into the counseling office)
Deadline: April 2, 2015
This scholarship is available to a Northwest senior because of all the students at Northwest who donated blood this past year. Student does not have to be a blood donor or involved with the drive to apply.
The common application is required for this scholarship.
Dramco Tool Company Scholarship
Deadline: April 2, 2015
This is offered to a student planning to attend SCC/Milford or CCC/Hastings and enroll in the Machine Tool and Technology program. MUst have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or C average. Finalists will be interviewed by Dramco reps and students may be offered a paid position if they complete the program in good standing. One letter of recommendation is required. Lincoln Builders Bureau Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is offered to seniors who are an employee or have a parent who is an employee of a Lincoln Builders Bureau member company. Must plan to pursue a career related to construction science.
Awards will be based primarily on academic performance, work experience, school involvement, community involvement and career goals.

Sons of the American Legion Squadron #53 Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015 (Turn into the counseling office)
This scholarship is offered to seniors who preferably have a relative who is or was a member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion. Student must include a transcript and two letters of recommendation.

Nebraska Seed Trade Association Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This is offered to a student planning to attend UNL and major in a degree offered by the Dept. of Agronomy and Horticulture, College of Ag Sciences and Natureal Resources, Institute of Ag and Natural Resources. Must possess a strong interest in the area of seed industry, crop production, seed technology or plant breeding.

Buffalo-Hall County Corn Growers Scholarship

NCTA-Curtis Scholarship (Renewable)
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This renewable scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen who are nominated by a coach or teacher, have a GPA of 2.5 or better and complete the FAFSA by April 1. Students must apply to NCTA (Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture).

Nebraska Agri-Women Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to a senior planning a career in an ag-related field, this includes diesel mechanics. Student must attend college or technical trade school in Nebraska.

Nebraska Association for the Gifted Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to students who qualify as high ability learners that plan to pursue a college education.

Central Nebraska Ducks Unlimited Chapter Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to students who live in Howard County. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must plan to attend a 4-year, 2-year or technical or trade school.

Arthur “Pooch” Gulzow Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is offered by the Grand Island Rural Fire Department to a student planning to in enroll in Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting, EMT, First Responder or related fields.

Grand Island Altrusa Club

This scholarship is offered to a senior with financial need who plans to attend college in Nebraska.

Southern Power District Utility Line Program Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is for a senior who plans to attend an accredited school to begin a utility line program. Student must also agree to serve a 12-week summer internship with Southern in cooperation with the college you will attend.

Southwest Neighborhood Association
Deadline: April 1, 2015
This scholarship is open to students who live within the boundaries established by the Southwest Neighborhood Association. Those boundaries generally include the sub-divisions of Schroeder/Graham, Kentish Hills, Indianhead, Castle Estates and Mary Lane. Student must have a B average, applicant’s family must be current members of association and student must provide community service to the Southwest Neighborhood area.

C. Ray Gates PTA Scholarship

This scholarship is for a senior who attended Gates Elementary for at least 3 years and has a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Johnny Baxter Carriage House Foundation
Deadline: April 3, 2015
This is offered to a senior planning to attend a NE community college and pursue a degree in an automotive related field. Must submit a transcript and a letter of recommendation from a teacher. Additional consideration will be given to students that submit an interview and/or reference letter from a New Car Dealer.

Northwest Athletic Booster Club Athletic Scholarship (Turn into the counseling office)
Deadline: April 7, 2015
This scholarship is open to any senior student athlete of Northwest whose parent(s) are current Booster Club members AND have been members for the previous THREE consecutive years. If a transfer, they must show proof of membership in the booster club at their previous school. Judging based on academics and greatest contributions in the areas of athletic achievement, involvement and attitude. Involvement for transfers before attending Northwest will be considered equal to involvement at Northwest. Transcript and three coach evaluations required. Students may only apply for this scholarship or the Spirit Booster Club scholarship.

Northwest Athletic Booster Club Spirit Scholarship (Turn into the counseling office)

This scholarship is open to any senior of Northwest who participated in Cheerleading, Vikettes, Athletic Training, and/or those who have been Student Managers. The applicant's parent(s) must be current Booster Club members and have been members for the previous THREE consecutive years. Requirements include academics, involvement and attitude. Applicant must provide a transcript and three evaluations from a coach, sponsor or administrator. Student may only apply for this scholarship or the Athletic scholarship.

Eastern Star Arbor Chapter 200 Scholarship

Two scholarships are offered to students who live in the Archer, Central City, Chapman, Clarks, Marquette, Palmer and Silver Creek areas. Students should exemplify good citizenship and high moral character.

2015 Merrick County Farm Bureau Scholarship

This scholarship is for a student who is pursuing a career in ag and has a parent who is an active Farm Bureau member. Orscheln Scholarship

These four scholarships are offered to students planning to attend the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources at UNL and enter into a 4-year program in agriculture or ag-related sciences. Preference will be given to those with a keen interest in the family farm and to those who live in selected counties. Selection will be based on influence of FFA background and influence on future career, leadership abilities, resourcefulness and scholastic achievement.
